The attached 'card' has been sent in by ebayer.

It appears to be an improbable item!

this is as fake as the other one posted on this forum
the seller wants $149.99 for this. wish he would shrink the price, how about $1.49 ? and post it somewhere inaccessible

As someone who knows little about Jap Occ, I would be glad of an explanation of where the problems lie with this cover so that I can avoid similar items in then future.

There is little which is right about it ! :( the 10c stamp is genuine.
The Malacca cancel is fake, and doesn't even have a date in it
the big circle mark lower right bears no resemblence to anything issued in the occupation, the 'censor' chop the red boxed mark is containing characters which don't look Japanese ( on this poor scan)

I have even seen examples of these covers on paper which is clearly post war. Not having handled this one I cannot be sure about that ! but there are a lot of them about.
as 'ebayer' says as $1.49 it would be a laugh, or an entry in the reference collection. But not at $149, which is presumably why 'ebayer' posted this and the other similar item.

You really need either Patrick Kearney's book on postmarks or Ted Proud's book on the Jap Occ, if new to this topic. the details of those books are on bibliography page on this site :D
