Hi Everybody

I just wanted to know if anybody knew where to find stamp dealers/shops in singapore or Malaysia.

I will be in singapore and malaysia for a few weeks from October 22nd and wanted to spend a few days searching for stamps.

Any tips or ideas would be very much appreciated.

Regards

Dominique

Hello.

All I can offer is CS Philatelic Agency, Peninsular Shopping Centre, 04-29 Coleman Street, Singapore 10.30 - 6 M-F, 2 - 6 Sat, 3 - 5.30 Sun and International Stamp & Coin, 2.4 & 2.5 Pertama Shopping Complex, 2nd Floor, JalanTuanku Abdul Rahman, 50100 Kuala Lumpur 9.30 - 4 M - S, 10 - 1 Sun.

The first is the publisher of the "Singapore Postage Stamps Catalogue" and the latter publisher of the "Standard Stamp Catalogue of Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei"

As such they are probably the "Stanley Gibbons" equivalent in the area.

There are others of course and presumably there is something akin to "Yellow Pages" to look in when youy are there.

Regards

Hi Dominique,

A visit to the weekly AmCorp Mall flea market in Jalan Utara, Petaling Jaya might be worthwhile when you are in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday 30th October. There are lots of dealers in stamps, coins and banknotes but prices are quite variable and you will usually not be able to find many scarce or elusive items. Kelantanese dealer Mr. Hassan (or his wife) and Mr. Govind (U.S. Agency) will normally be in attendance. Besides collectibles, there are also many stalls selling souvenirs and antiques. If you want to visit Steven Tan's shop in Pertama Complex, note that it will only be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays.

Hi guys. Apologies for the late reply as I haven't had much access to the internet.

Thank you for all the info. I will be looking for jap occ material.

I saw the shop at the philatelic museum online but it seemed to list all dates except the jap occ period

The Market looks hopefull though.

Once again thanks MSG member for all the help.
