Mac's Straits Slug variety on 1c on 6c lilac, is now recorded in Gibbons Stamp monthly. December 2010 issue page 128.

it does look like a slug.

Since that article was submitted, I have obtained, from Gibbons counter stock, a 'Crown CC' value (10c surcharge, used) with the flaw, so it should occur on all issues and surcharges, including Bangkok, for the 6c value. Having looked at hundreds of of different stamps, I have come to the conclusion that it is a rare stamp! Many probably got thrown out as 'damaged', as they do look that way. :o

The flaw is now listed in the latest Gibbons catalogues under various headings/issues, although several are still unlisted, they do exist! :P
